You may have seen these plain paper flower pom poms at weddings or baby showers. Today, we?ll take it one step further and make animal pom poms. A very simple upgrade for maximum cute factor! Won?t these look cute for your next themed parties or photoshoot?

My daughter loves bunnies so I had to make her some. If rabbits are not your ?thing?, scroll down further for more ideas of other animals you can make. Let?s go!

Supplies needed:

Tissue paper 20?x30?. One flower pom pom requires 4-6 sheets.

Card stock

Thread

Scissors

Glue

1. Stack 4-6 sheets of tissue paper then fold it along the width to measure 20?x15?.

2. Make a 1.5 inch fold along the width.

step2

3. Accordion pleat all the way.

step4

4. Fold in half to find the centre and then tie it tight with similar color thread (I?m using a brown string so it?s visible in the picture). If you are planning to hang the pom pom, cut the string longer.

step5

5. Cut the ends in rounded shape.

step6

6. Gently separate the layers by pulling them towards the centre.

step7

7. It should look like this once all the layers are opened up.

step8

8. Draw ears, eyes, mouth shapes on card stock and cut.

step8

9.Paste them on the pom pom with glue or double-sided tape.

step9

And you?re done!
